We’re pretty good at building things these days. We’ve built machines that can fly, machines that can explore the deepest oceans and the furthest reaches of space. We’ve built machines that can out-calculate us, out-diagnose us, and even write poems that might make us shed a tear. But can they actually *feel* anything?
